Dennis Nobelius – CEO
With an extensive background in leading the green transformation in the automotive sector, you decided to take on the textile industry. Why?
Textiles are a given part of our everyday lives. But the way we produce and consume them must change. By implementing true textile-to-textile recycling at hyperscale, we will drive the transition from a linear to a circular value chain. Being part of this necessary shift is beyond an opportunity, it is amission. And being able to draw on experiences from Volvo Cars and Polestar is really beneficial, for example I see similarities when it comes to sustainability approaches, supply chain collaboration, science based target breakdown, need of traceability, and more.
What is your vision with Syre?
At Syre, we are envisioning a world where every textile fiber sees a new day. By putting textile waste to use over and over again we want to enable an infinite cycle of the past and the future. And reaching this via hyperscaling, teaming up as an industry with the entire value chain - big or small - with a strong team based approach.
How has the past week been since Syre launched officially?
Hectic and fantastic, the response has been nothing but great! I truly look forward to building partnerships across the industry and enabling delivery on the ambitious sustainability targets for all textile and polyester intense companies out there. And I appreciate the massive inbound cheering on, proposals, and approaches - just lagging behind now to respond properly but looking forward to do so”.
